Once the private retreat of Hawaii's royalty, you can still find a replica of King David Kalakaua's beach house and the remains of three heiau, ancient Hawaiian temples. There are oceanfront tide pools to explore, Hawaiian sea turtles that will fill you with wonder and beautiful gardens filled with native trees and plants to enjoy.

For activities, there are six tennis courts, two of which are lighted; a swimming pool with children's pool overlooking the ocean, Hawaiian culture and arts program for both adults and children, the wonderful Kalona Salon & Spa, offering various types of massages and much more.

The spacious rooms average 300 to 338 sq.ft. and were recently refurbished and now feature an elegant décor with a touch of the tropics with the use of wicker and rattan furnishings, tropical prints and Hawaiian art, as well as large furnished lanais. There are all the amenities you would expect is this quality hotel and there is no charge for children, age 17 years and younger, occupying the same room with their parents or guardians and using existing bedding.
